arielfilms is a film production company established in 2004 in Cologne, Germany, by Benjamina Mirnik and Sonja Ewers. arielfilms develops, produces, co-produces and markets feature film and documentary projects for the German and the international market. arielfilms first success came with the 2004 Venice Film Festival’s UIP Award for the short film GOODBYE by writer/director Steve Hudson. In addition, the producers have won the FFA Short Tiger Award in 2005 for the short film CHAIM by Jonathan Greenfield. arielfilms first feature, TRUE NORTH, directed by Steve Hudson, was premiered in the Discovery section of the Toronto Film Festival 2006. arielfilms second feature, LEBANON, directed by Samuel Maoz, won the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival 2009.
